As a member of the Regional Engagement team you will have the opportunity to nurture innovation-driven growth projects across Queensland. We are looking for a person who has strong existing collaborative networks, or the ability to quickly build and nurture strong collaborative networks, with stakeholders across the innovation community in Queensland including entrepreneurs, investors, researchers and research institutions, corporates, innovative small businesses and government. Ideally the selected candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, a commitment to inclusion and diversity and a passion for creating a positive, thriving future for all Queenslanders.

As a Senior Project Officer you will:
• build and maintain productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders including officers across other government agencies, Advance Queensland program recipients and applicants, industry organisations, and regional representatives including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander councils and groups.
• identify and support activities under the Regional Futures initiative, including identifying potential collaborative projects, providing advisory support to inform assessment of regional funding applications and nurturing a strong relationship with recipients of funded regional collaborative projects.
• prepare high quality written documentation including briefing notes, event packs, reports and correspondence.
• provide quality and effective engagement and cultural support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander recipients of Deadly Innovation programs and support services.
• communicate effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people; have a good understanding of both cultures from a historical and contemporary perspective; and apply your knowledge of cultural protocols and cultural practices relevant to both Aboriginal peoples, and Torres Strait Islander peoples in order to support engagement and activities for the service.
• develop content for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and non-Indigenous innovators and businesses that can be used in outgoing communications.
• work autonomously, and within in a fast paced, agile and high functioning team, exemplifying professionalism and a commitment to wider organisational objectives.
• encourage an environment in which high-quality and timely services are delivered by continually seeking improvements in systems and processes, establishing priorities and providing advice and training to the Regional Engagement team.
• involve travel within Queensland.
• Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
