This company is a market leading global pharmaceutical company that provides access to therapies for patients with unmet needs. With a strong focus in Haematology, Oncology and Rare Diseases, they commercialise highly innovative therapies across international markets, helping to save and improve the lives of patients suffering from the most challenging diseases. Due to an exciting launch, we have partnered with this company to build their new national team and we are looking for a Business Unit Head who will drive their pre-launch and launch strategy and lead the commercial function and team as the business grows.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will have responsibility for:

  • Pre-launch and market preparation activities for their rare disease portfolio in Australia
  • Supporting local market access strategy for their product portfolio
  • Co-developing and executing the cross-functional operational and brand plans
  • Ensuring sales objectives and business growth are achieved for in-line products
  • Leading, coaching and mentoring a high performing team; as well as building and actively managing a pipeline of succession talent
  • Partnering with and supporting the the Australian and global cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to developing the culture and expansion of the local affiliate

As the successful candidate you will need to have:

  • Proven track record as a Commercial leader within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experienced people manager with ability to motivate team members
  • Strong strategic and executional marketing experience
  • Preferably rare diseases experience in pre launch and launch activities
  • Excellent customer relationship building, communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to prioritise and make decisions across many key objectives in multiple TA's
  • An ability to work in an agile and fast paced environment


This will be both a challenging and rewarding role where you will have the opportunity to launch a rare disease portfolio into Australia, as well as build and lead the commercial function as the business grows.
