ETL Developer

The primary responsibility of this role is architecture tasks including data models, reverse engineering, and performance optimisation by designing, developing, unit testing and maintaining ETL jobs to create or enhance data warehouses / datamarts, to integrate data from multiple sources and to correctly ensure the flow of data across the internal data ecosystem layers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design ETL via source-to-target mapping and design documents that consider security, performance tuning and other best practices
  • Test ETL and other technical components and support QA activities
  • Deploy and test code from lower environments to production
  • Document technical specifications, data models, process flows, etc
  • Collaborate with delivery and technical team members on design and development activities within Agile / Scrum teams
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand business processes, standard release management requirements, and underlying data and reporting needs
  • Collaborate with IT / enterprise partners to understand processes and standard release management requirements
  • Conduct data analysis in support of ETL development, issue analysis and resolution, and activities

EXPERIENCE:

  • Up to 6+ years with industry-standard ETL tools, including 3+ years with Matillion where possible
  • Up to 6+ years of intermediate to advanced SQL experience
  • Up to 6+ years with data warehouses / marts supporting business requirements, BI report development, and report analysis
  • Experience developing within an agile (i.e. Scrum or Kanban) framework
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment on a fast-paced project
  • Business experience with insurance industry
  • Exposure to Snowflake database
  • Support SAS data management and reporting tools
  • A broad range of experience in information systems and development
  • A broad range of experience in business analysis and data analysis applications in complex information system environment.
  • Experience with AWS tools set Lambda and glue.
  • Data modeling experience with ERWin or SPARX
  • Experience with Python

    QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong soft skills (e.g., communication, interpersonal, collaborative, resilient, agile work practice)

  • DESIRABLE
  • Up to 6+ years of intermediate to advanced SQL experience
  • Up to 6+ years with data warehouses / marts supporting business requirements, BI report development, and report analysis
  • Experience with AWS tools set Lambda and glue.
  • Exposure to Snowflake database
