Our client is a world leading mining equipment rental business who has operations in all key mining regions of Australia. They work with clients and customers across coal, gold, copper, iron ore, bauxite and nickel. They provide tailored solutions that are value-creating for mining companies.

About The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager who is looking to continue to grow their career working for a global leader.

This role is responsible for achieving revenue growth for the Australian rental division and will report into the General Manager. Through identifying and developing new business opportunities and relationships with new and existing customers, you will be responsible for expanding the customer base and offerings on service in line with the growth strategy.

Job Duties

  • Relationship management and business development to maintain existing customers and secure new customers
  • Negotiation of opportunities and preparation of proposals in accordance with company policies
  • Preparation of business development and marketing strategies to identify opportunities
  • Thorough understanding of clients requirements and alternative solutions
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure complete and effective processes managing contracts
  • Effective communication with stakeholders to ensure quality and reliability of assets
  • Timely and efficient redeployment of assets
  • Assist in periodic inspections of rental assets to ensure standards of maintenance, presentation and safety are met
  • Participate in Sales and Business Development meetings
  • Participate in the management of Health and Environment Management Plan
  • Daily management of CRM database
  • Preparation of monthly reports for the GM
  • Provide asset forecasts and rate adjustments as required
  • Participate in budget development, strategic plan and gain an understanding of revenues
  • Ongoing development of job and industry knowledge through personal networks and educational opportunities

About You:

  • Qualifications in Commerce or Engineering (Civil or Mechanical)
  • 5+ years experience in mining, resources or mobile equipment sector in a similar role
  • High level contract negotiation skills
  • Dynamic approach to sales
  • Knowledge of relevant contract legislation
  • Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships
  • Understanding of mining lifecycles and equipment requirements
  • Existing network of contracts in similar industries
  • Technical knowledge of heavy earthmoving equipment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
