The Cyber Security Unit (CSU) is responsible for enhancing government cyber security capability. This team provides cyber security leadership, governance, policy and standards, advocacy, capability development, and incident coordination. The CSU also manages several whole of Government threat management services, works to optimise cyber awareness and resilience across Queensland and supports State-wide industry cyber development.
As the Principal Project Officer (Exercising), you will work closely with a wide range of key stakeholders to develop and deliver an exercising strategy and program that helps Queensland Government entities better prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from, cyber incidents.

To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

· Extensive experience in project/event management, ideally in an Exercise Management context, and/or training program development and delivery
· Sound knowledge of Australian Inter-service Incident Management System (AIIMS) principles and processes and/or willingness to obtain competence.
· A strong knowledge and understanding of project management and version control management methodologies, as well as the ability to apply and interpret standards and best practice principles.
· Demonstrated time management and organisational skills with previous accountability for the execution of quality deliverables.
· Effective interpersonal skills with an ability to liaise, influence and communicate productively with a range of internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts.
· Proficiency in the preparation of documents including reports, briefing documentation, reviews, submissions, meeting papers, presentations and correspondence relating to project deliverables, training and events in accordance with departmental requirements.

Mandatory requirements 
• This is a position of trust, and the successful candidate will be required to obtain, or already hold, a security clearance (Baseline).
• The department will make any necessary screening arrangements for preferred candidate/s if and when required.
• Whilst not mandatory, it is highly desirable that you have experience supporting programs across complex organisations and experience in capability uplift, people, process or technology.
