Senior Technical Cyber Security Specialist
Humanised Group have teamed up with a large government owned organisation within the Power and Utilities industry to strengthen their cyber security capacity.
Location: Brisbane
Contract: 6 months + extensions
Primary Purpose:
Working within the organisation's Digital and Information Services, Cyber Security Section, you are to support the delivery of the cyber security capability improvement projects.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assist in design, delivery, and operation of cyber security initiatives
- Implement controls aligned with ACSC's Essential Eight
- Deploy network/asset monitoring and vulnerability management solutions
- Implement role-based access control and privileged access management
- Integrate logging with SIEM system
- Liaise with third-party providers
- Support Technical Security lead
- Assess existing controls and recommend improvements
Key Relationships:
Internal: Technical Security Delivery Lead, Cyber Security Project Manager, IT teams
External: Consultants, service providers, system vendors
Core Capabilities:
- Experience with Windows/Linux OS management
- Expertise in virtual infrastructure, application control, and backup solutions
- Knowledge of vulnerability management in OT environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 security solutions and Azure Sentinel
- Skills in firewall and network security technologies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary degree in cyber security or equivalent experience
- Industry certifications preferred
This role requires a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in implementing and managing various cyber security solutions across corporate and operational technology environments.
