About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a Lease Accounting Manager who is responsible for the accurate financial processes stemming from lease agreements across the portfolio. In respect to headleases, the Lease Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring all amounts paid in accordance with the lease agreement are accurate and timely. In respect to subleases, the Lease Accounting Manager will also be responsible to ensure all amounts billed are in accordance with the sublease.

In general, the Lease Accounting Manager is responsible for understanding all financial responsibilities in respect to the lease agreements and takes ownership and responsibility for their accurate remittance and billing.

In this Role

  • Be the key point of contact with landlords and subtenants for lease billing related matters
  • Complete AP/AR preparation including rent rolls and ad-hoc payment preparation
  • Ensuring the correct issue of rent invoices and the invoices for ad-hoc recoveries
  • Ensuring the accuracy of rent reviews (i.e. CPI/ fixed rent review);
  • Account & outgoings reconciliation as well as outgoings budget review
  • Assessing whether transactions and charges are in line with lease agreements
  • Maintaining the data in the lease management system as per the lease agreements
  • Assisting our customer and the landlord on all queries.

You're Likely a Match If
  • Strong accounting skills with experience working in a corporate treasury
  • Accounting experience (preferably in the property industry)
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience in MS Dynamics 365 is preferable
