MASTER THESIS “DYNAMIC SYSTEM MODELLING WITH NEURAL NETWORKS"

CENTER FOR VISION, AUTOMATION & CONTROL
- Under the guidance of our **Complex Dynamical Systems** team, you will delve into the field of modeling utilizing **neural networks (NN)**. Classical first-principle models for dynamic systems are time-consuming to develop and parametrize, which opens a gap for the use of **data-based methods **like Neural networks (NNs).
- You will start into this thesis with **a literature review** to obtain a comprehensive overview of the used network structures for modelling.
- You will broaden your knowledge and skills in the field of neural networks by integrating selected model structures from existing libraries (e.g., MATLAB or Python) into a simulation environment to estimate a simple dynamic system.
- You will sum up the results from the simulation and the test bench benchmarks and present it the team.
- You may publish your results at a conference or a journal.

**Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner**:

- Ongoing master's studies in the field of electronics, technical mathematics, technical informatics, computer science, AI, machine learning or a comparable technical field
- Interested in the field of Neural Networks (NN)
- Interested in the field of simulation environments and test bench implementations
- Interested in working in a team
- Good knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink
- Good knowledge of English and German in word and writing

**What to expect**:

- **Start-date**: ideally as soon as possible - However, there is some flexibility concerning the start date (for e.g. February / March 2024 may also work).
- **Duration of the master’s thesis project**: about 6 months EUR 534,
- gross per month for 12 hours/week based on the collective agreement. There will be additional company benefits. As a research institution, we are familiar with the supervision and execution of master theses, and we are looking forward to supporting you accordingly
