Our businessYour Trainee Program
- Are you a recent graduate or a young professional eager to kickstart your career? Look no further OMV’s Trading and Optimization Trainee Program offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop essential skills, and grow within our organization.
- Start date: September 2024 (earlier start possible)
- Duration: 24 months
- Full time position (38-hour/week)
- Our trainee program is designed to provide a solid foundation for your professional journey and give you a good overview of the gas business.Job Rotation: Over the 2-year period, you’ll rotate through 4 roles, Trading and Analytics are both mandatory assignments, with two more roles to be selected in consultation with the mentor, covering Optimization, Commercial Operations, and LNG

- Career Development: Upon successful completion of the program, you’ll have the chance to transition into a permanent role.**Your tasks**
- During your Trainee Programm you will be involved in following tasks:
- Engaging in trading activities across European gas hubs and exchanges, including both physical and financial transactions.
- Collaborating on hedging strategies and portfolio management, while also exploring arbitrage opportunities.
- Overseeing order flow and acting as an internal market-maker for various products like forwards, futures, swaps, and options.
- Conducting thorough market analysis and providing regular updates on price parameters, both fundamental and technical.
- Continuously enhancing trading tools and supporting the development of price, market, and portfolio models.

**Your profile**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Mathematics, Physics, IT, Economics, Informatics or a related quantitative field.
- Proficiency in statistical and mathematical models and an analytical mindset
- Experience in coding (Python, C++, Java, or equivalent languages)
- Comprehensive understanding of data mining, research, analysis, and automated trading systems
- Your are a hands-on personality with strong communication skills and analytical skills
- Being fluent in English compliments your profile
