**The job**
- Advance the business goals of Siemens by protecting the Company's Intellectual Property deriving in Region Austria by showing effective Leadership, e.g. by exploiting the opportunities IP law provides, taking the initiative and contributing proactively to master the business challenges, taking decisions in IP legal matters and assuming responsibility for, giving impulses to the business (e.g. by employing a different perspective) as well as thinking and acting IP entrepreneurially (e.g. in balancing governance and business needs). Reflecting this in local IP Strategy in alignment with business strategy (covering Protection, Exploitation and Defense Strategy)
- Responsibility for Region Austria IP budget
- Engage in a culture where IP is a fundamental part of our innovation and work with different stakeholders, such as sales, business development and engineering to harvest, develop and leverage IP
- Being a trusted advisor to stakeholders, effectively implementing IP strategies, processes, and policies
- Drive Protection and Exploitation of technological advancements and innovations; Develop Defense Strategies and Countermeasures regarding third party IP, exerts IP Guidance
- Support product development processes (including stage-gate and Agile development, such as mitigation of third-party IP risks and defining IP strategy in line with the product’s market strategy to create and maintain the product IP portfolio).
- IP Legal Counseling on any IP issues and any IP right
- Represent Siemens IP Department externally in Austria in Professional associations as an effective and professional advocate of Siemens policies and goals by publications, active networking, speeches and presentations
- Foster collaboration and partnering with other T IP REG Department Heads and Global IP colleagues

**People management**
- Leading a team of 6 IP Professionals and IP Administrators through empowerment, growth, and passion
- Disciplinary & functional management, coaching and training of employees
- People and talent development: e.g. growth talks, target setting, performance evaluation and competency development
- Identifying, hiring, and developing talents

**Main Contacts (internal, external)**:

- internal: Technology & Innovation Management, Regional Technology Management, Regional Finance Management, Global IP team, Legal & Compliance, Service & Governance functions
- external: IP Organizations (e.g. patent offices, patent courts), Third Parties (e.g. in IP disputes or joint-IP-interest cases), Outside IP counsel, Professional IP associations in Austria

**Your profile**
- Several years of experience in all IP activities; negotiation skills, national and international litigation, IP Harvesting
- Qualification in national and international Patent Law (e.g., Austrian, European)
- National and international Inventor's Law, Knowledge in General Law (e.g., contract law)
- Innovation management
- Collaborating with international partners & in ecosystems
- Strong strategic, innovative and customer orientation
- Ability to accompany change processes in teams positively and successfully to actively drive transformation
- Eager to lead a team through empowerment, growth, and passion
- Leading by example by fostering a growth culture, e.g., feedback, further development
- Functional leadership experience is a plus

**Our offer**

The gross annual salary according to the collective agreement for this position is at least EUR 90.000 (all in, a variable component is included in the salary). Depending on education and experience, overpayment is possible.
