**Your personal sphere of influence**:
As a predoctoral university assistant, you will support Prof. Matthias Lehmann and his research team in the area of international business law.
The Department of European, International and Comparative Law is concerned with fundamental research as well as teaching law students.
The focus of our research is private international law, banking and capital markets law, litigation and arbitration and _Digital Assets_/Crypto regulation.
Our team currently consists of five predoctoral assistants, one student assistant and one administrative colleague.

**Your future tasks**:
You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of private international law, comparative law and banking and capital markets law.
- You support the head of the team at scientific publications and publish your own research.
- We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
- You work on your dissertation and its completion.
- You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
- You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration, for example
- supervision of students
- organisation of exams
**This is part of your personality**:
- Completed Master's degree or Diploma in law
- Interest in questions of financial law, especially banking and capital markets law
- Motivation to work on your dissertation
- Didactic competences including experience with e-learning
- IT user skills (esp. Microsoft Office)
- Excellent command of written and spoken German and English (C1-C2 Level)
- High social and communication skills
- Desirable but not required would be knowledge of
- a further foreign language
- international experience
- additional IT skills (in particular Mac)
The employment duration is **4 years**. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to **4 years** if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a declaration of non-extension.
