**Your personal sphere of influence**:
As PhD student in a predoctoral position at the Department of Economic and Social History, you actively participate in research, teaching and administration in the field of Late Medieval and Early Modern Social History, in the key research area of the Faculty “Economy and Society from a Historical and Cultural Studies Perspective” and in the research cluster “Social and Economic Spaces” of the Doctoral School of Historical and Cultural Studies.

**Your future tasks**:
Holding classes independently for Bachelor, Master and Teachers’ Diploma on the basis of the current wage agreement of the University
Co-organizing conferences, workshops and meetings in the field of Social History of the Late Middle Ages and Early Modern period as well as engagement in administrative tasks of the University
Further academic qualification (dissertation, publications, conference participation, etc.)
The conclusion of the dissertation agreement is expected within 12 to 18 months.

**This is part of your personality**:

- Successfully completed Master or Diploma Study in History
- Substantial, provable competence in Social History (i.e. an excellent master/diploma thesis or publications focused on Social History, and a conceptual proposal of a doctoral thesis in Social History focusing on the Late Middle Ages and/or the Early Modern period.
- Awareness of theory and methods
- Proficiency in German, excellent knowledge of English and, preferably, another foreign language
- Advanced computer skills are desirable
- Ability to work in a team
- Organisational skills

**Model 2**:
The employment duration is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration.
