**Summary / Role Purpose**

The Manager R&D (M/F/d) joins the optiSLang R&D team and takes the leadership of a small Scrum team. As such the Manager R&D will be challenged by various creative and abstract technologies and deliverables that are required for the future of the software optiSLang involving core and new technologies like remotable APIs, workflows, efficient data storage, cloud, license systems, computing frameworks, etc. This role isresponsible for planning, resource assignments and progress tracking of all activities performed by the members of the team. The Manager R&D will be responsible for line management and personal development of the team members, as well as the facilitation of the team's work. This includes interaction with other teams, negotiation of features and roadmaps with R&D and Product Management, proposing and planning of new features, proposing, and deciding on technologies, ensuring that the team delivers in requested time and quality. The R&D Manager uses expertise to develop strategic plans, refine requirements and provide technical leaderships.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Responsible for the on-time completion of the projects assigned to team while meeting the corporate quality standards
- Ensure that appropriate methods and procedures are followed
- Recruits, develops, and retains high performing talent
- Create a positive team culture that is aligned with the Ansys culture
- Oversee and manage a small Scrum team ("Foundation")
- Lead planning, architecture, or research at a project level
- Develop and employ best practices and maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring
- Perform and support complex bug verification, research, and understand the marketing requirements for products, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive challenges
- May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions
- Propose adequate technologies for current and future roadmaps, involving Python, remotable APIs, workflows, efficient data storage, cloud, license systems, computing frameworks, license systems, etc.
- Operate autonomously without direct supervision and function as a team leader and project manager or software architect for the "Foundation" Scrum team within the optiSLang R&D team

**Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience**
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Science or related field with 8 years' experience, MS with 6 years' experience, or PhD with 4 years' experience
- Significant commercial experience with cross-platform development (Linux+Windows), C++, Python
- Proven track record of successful product releases
- Excellent technical knowledge and commercial experience with Qt, Git, Scrum, Continuous Integration (Jenkins/ADO), Numerical Analysis (Eigen, MKL/Lapack, NumPy, TF, pyTorch), API generation, Remotable APIs, Framework design, database design, license protection, Software Design, UML, JSON, Network protocols
- Experience leading projects and delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial organization

**Remuneration**

Salary according to collective bargaining agreement IT/ST2 of at least EUR 3,285.00 gross monthly. Depending on qualification and professional experience we aim for an overpayment.
