Computer Information Systems Assistant

This position is located in the AML/CFT Solutions (AMLCFTS) team, Software Products for Member States Unit (SPMS), Digital Transformation and Solution (DTS), Information Technology Service (ITS), Division for Management (DM), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in Vienna. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Chief, SPMS and overall guidance of the Chief, ITS.

**Responsibilities**:
The incumbent will take a leading role in the development and implementation of sustainable and affordable IT solutions for relevant Secretariat entities, and to be deployed in key government institutions of Member States including anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies. Within delegated authority, the incumbent will perform the following specific duties:

- Supervise the developers, producing WEB part of the anti-money laundering software solution for UN Member States.
- Coordinate the work of project teams and their members (local team in Vienna and remote team in India) and continually monitor project progress.
- Be in charge of the technical design, manage the development and ensure the effective implementation of all software project activities.
- Guide and mentor junior staff in UNODC standard development and programming techniques using the industry’s best practices.
- Participate in testing and evaluating new tools and technologies.
- Assist with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making.
- Assist with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures.
- Perform any other work-related duties as required.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Certification in C#.NET, SQL technologies is desirable

Job - Specific Qualification
Certification in C#.NET, SQL technologies is desirable.

Having passed the Administrative Support Assessment Test [in English] at the United Nations headquarters, Economic Commission for Africa, Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, United Nations Office at Geneva, United Nations Office at Vienna, International criminal tribunal for Rwanda or International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia may be accepted in lieu of the GGST.

Work Experience
A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant technical experience in systems analysis, development and programming is required.

Experience in developing medium to large scale systems using Microsoft.NET/ C#, ASP.NET coupled with HTML, JS, Angular TS, WebAPI, Entity Framework is desirable.

Work experience with SQL Server and designing relational databases is desirable.

Experience in managing team(s) of developers from different cultural backgrounds is desirable.

Experience in technical documentation writing for the full systems development cycle including end user documentation is desirable.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
