**About the role**

**QC Lead (f/m/d), Quality**

Leading a team of more than 100 QC associates supporting commercial manufacturing of difficult to make Biologics to ensure patients receive their medication on time and with high quality. Drug Product Schaftenau site manufactures finished products for Novartis and external customers and the QC lab also supports the API manufacturing sites on Campus in Austria.
As QC Lead you will have the unique opportunity to further develop the organization with all the highly qualified quality control professionals to support the site in its continuous growth and volume increase.
As the QC department covers a very brought spectrum of QC activities like, phys.chem. testing of proteins and siRNA, incoming goods testing of primary packaging materials and device components, testing of finished goods and microbiological methods for API and sterile FDF products, the position keeps every day something new to learn and grow.

**Your key responsibilities**:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Leading a QC organization of more than 100 professionals (5-6 direct reports)
- Ensuring that products are meeting requirements with regarding quality, time and reliability
- Development of the QC organization to cope with future business needs. This includes resource capability and facility development planning for the respective laboratories including budget responsibility
- Drive harmonized workflows and methods for in-process control and release testing using cutting-edge technologies and IT support
- Active participation in internal councils, health authority inspections and audits ensuring continued inspection readiness of the QC organization (cGMP compliance)
- Facilitate efficient exchange with internal and external partners
- Support development of local and global projects improving quality control processes and infrastructure

**Role Requirements**

**What you’ll bring to the role**:
**Essential**:

- Life sciences degree (Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, Biochemistry or any related science)
- Fluency in English, German desirable
- 8+ years of experience in quality control or a similar GMP environment
- Minimum 5 years leadership experience
- Expert knowledge in GMP regulations

**Desirable requirements**:

- Strong background in at least two areas of phys-chem analytics of proteins, functional testing of combination products, microbiological testing (Endotoxin, Bioburden and Sterility testing) and incoming goods control of primary packaging materials
- Very experienced in leading larger organizations
- Strategic mindset
