**Your personal sphere of influence**:
The Doctoral School Computer Science provides the option of performance-based contract extensions (6 months) to doctoral students who previously had a position as university assistant (prae doc) or as third-party funded researcher (prae doc) at the University of Vienna. This completion contract is meant to support a high-qualified DoCS fellow in the final phase of the doctoral studies. The successful applicant will get a contract as university assistant (prae doc) and will be working in the research group “Theory and Applications of Algorithms” at the Faculty of Computer Science.

The position is limited to six months and is planned to be filled from 01.10.2024.

**Your future tasks**:
You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

- Your main task is to complete and to submit your dissertation.
- You meet and consult with your supervisor(s) on a regular basis in order to prioritize your tasks and get the necessary support to complete your dissertation successfully in time.
- You participate in your department's and the Doctoral School activities and workshops.
- You participate in conferences and publish research results in peer-reviewed conferences/journals.
- You actively seek support (workshops, training, coaching etc.) if necessary.
- You actively participate in teaching and conduct independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement.

**This is part of your personality**:

- Above-average MSc degree in Computer Science or Computational Science.
- Excellent knowledge of combinatorial algorithms and their analysis.
- Excellent programming skills.
- Excellent academic and study record (e.g. annual submission of progress reports; outstanding publication record etc).
- High level of motivation and commitment to succesfully complete your doctoral studies within the anticipated time frame.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and German (C1 Level).
- Collaborative, team-minded and pro-active attitude.
- High level of written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with the structures of the University of Vienna.
- Experience in academic writing and publishing.

Ideally you have:

- Excellent C++ programming skills.
- Outstanding experience in Algorithm Engineering.
- Theoretical and practical experience in dynamic algorithms, algorithms for data analysis, algorithms for data center optimizations, as well as differential privacy.
- Experience abroad.
