The Max Perutz Labs are a research institute established by the University of Vienna and the Medical University of Vienna to provide an environment for excellent, internationally recognized research and education in the fields of Molecular Biology and Biomedicine. The mission of the Max Perutz Labs is to analyze and reconstitute complex biological processes from atomic to tissue and organismal scales. We are located at the Vienna BioCenter, one of Europe’s hotspots for the Life Sciences in Vienna's third district, and host 45 research groups with 400 people from 50 nations.

**The Communications Team**:
We are a small team with members from different backgrounds with an ambitious goal: we want to strengthen the reputation of the Perutz as an internationally renowned research institution and as the place to study for the next generation of leading scientists.

**You will**:

- manage the editorial calendar and identify stories for our news pipeline
- draft news stories based on the outstanding publications of our researchers
- create appealing digital content and manage our social media channels
- plan, manage and draft content for the bi-monthly Perutz newsletter
- be involved in the organization of top-level external and internal events

**You are the right person for the job if you have**:

- strong journalistic writing skills with a proven track record of communicating scientific content to a broad audience through online and offline channels
- University-level education in the life sciences (biology/chemistry or similar) and/or journalism
- have a proven track record of the professional use of social media and related tools
- have a strong command of TYPO3
- have good knowledge of office design-software (Photoshop); video production skills would be a great asset
- have excellent knowledge of science-related research tools and platforms
- have excellent command of English

**We offer**:

- International working environment with English as working language
- minimum salary of EUR 3.100 (gross per month) based on 40 hours per week, with possible overpayment, depending on qualification and work experience
- permanent contract of employment
- Flexibility in working hours incl. option for home office
