**Role Summary**

Lead the HR function and managing HR processes through the employee life cycle in the country and work in partnership with the business and regional / global HR Teams in driving the People practices, employee engagement, a vibrant high performing culture, the talent transformation to prepare for medium to long term business opportunities.

The HRD is also managing facilities, office management and leads also the SHE coordinator to ensure on-going compliance with the AZ SHE policy together with national safety, health and environmental legislation requirements. The HRD is also acting as the local Sustainability lead.

**Develop and implement the Austrian People plans**
- Align priority people activities to the Business Plans and global/regional HR priorities
- Drive a vibrant high performing culture (performance development - differentiated reward)
- Enhance employee engagement (leadership and communication - enabling work environment - learning and development opportunities)
- Provide differentiated Total reward to attract, develop and retain talents
- Aligned recruitment strategy and activities to ensure attraction of the right talents to the organisation

**Build a strong and diverse leadership pipeline and succession plan**
- Implement the company’s Talent Management approach
- Secure depth in succession plans for critical roles
- Oversee quality of IDPs for identified talents and their implementation
- Acting as local talent acquisition partner to local leaders/line managers, leading recruitment processes for all levels

**Advisor to the business**:

- **Work in partnership with the Country President and Senior Management Team and line managers acting as a business advisor, identifying HR and people implications and providing recommendations and driving the execution of plans to support business objectives**:

- **Identifies organisational needs, critical people and organisational capabilities required to support these.**:

- **Understands the business direction and the role that HR plays within the objectives**:

- **Act as a coach/mentor to executive business managers and promote the development of their skill set to build confidence, competence and capability to deal with people issues**
- Supports the business in communicating and enabling change within the business area
- Provide the business with data driven insights to support their people management accountability

**Deployment of Global HR programme interventions to ensure they align with the Country requirements**:

- Global Processes and systems on key People processes (Talent management, reward, performance management, recruitment, training and development and payroll service delivery)**Strengthen the HR capability within the function**:

- Manage a small team capable of delivering the HR plans
- Streamline processes
- Develop the professional capability (relevant knowledge/skills) of the team and resource appropriately
- Set a clear direction and ensure clarity on priorities
- Set objectives, coach and assess performance and address performance gaps

**Lead Employee Relations all Investigations**
- Lead on all local investigations into allegations of Sexual Harassment and Harassment/Bullying ensuring compliance with both the global and local processes.
- Lead employee relations with Works Council, leading regular works council meetings, negotiates and writes works council agreements.
