The Institute of Slavic Studies at the University of Vienna is one of the world’s largest research and teaching centres for Slavic languages, literatures and cultures. The institute represents all East, South and West Slavic languages and literatures in teaching and research.

**Duration of employment**: 6 year/s

**Extent of Employment**: 20 hours/week

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: -48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Active participation in research, teaching and administration. This involves
- Developing and strengthening the independent research profile
- Involvement in research projects
- International publications and presentations
- Preparing / writing a habilitation thesis
- Independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement
- Supervision of students and Examination activities
- Participation in evaluation measures and quality assurance
- Participation in administration of the institute / department

**Profile**:

- Interest in a scientific carreer
- PhD in the field of south slavic linguistics with a diachronic focus
- Excellent knowledge of at least one south slavic language and German
- Interest in participation in the activities of the Department of Slavonic Studies
- Knowledge of principles of teaching
- High command of written and oral language
- Ability to work in teams

Desirable qualifications are
- Good knowledge of other Slavic languages
- Willingness to teaching and working with e-learning programs
- Experience in knowledge management
- Experience in (external) fundraising
- Knowledge of university processes and structures as well as experience in university teaching is an advantage.
