**What you'll be doing** _The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is **‘exceptional care, healthier lives’**. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it._ The NSW Sexually Transmissible Infections Programs Unit (STIPU) is an implementation arm of the Centre for Population Health, NSW Ministry of Health. The work of NSW STIPU is guided by the NSW Sexually Transmissible Infections (STI) and the NSW HIV Strategies. These strategies aim to reduce HIV and STIs and associated morbidity and mortality in NSW. This is achieved through the delivery of state-wide population level sexual health programs, working with public and private health systems to build the capacity for prevention, treatment and management of STIs, and working with priority populations and priority settings. NSW STIPU provides leadership and expertise in the areas of evidence-based sexual health clinical practice and health promotion, harm reduction and community engagement. The Unit also develops strategic partnerships with key agencies and stakeholders across the health system and in whole of government settings. The Unit’s primary purpose is to develop, implement and evaluate sexual health promotion programs which: - Support delivery of best practice and innovative sexual health services; - Use a community engagement framework; - Incorporate social marketing campaigns; and to - Provide high level policy advice concerning STIs and sexual health promotion. - NSW STIPU maintains key relationships across the NSW Human Services Health systems and Ministry of Health in order to perform its role. The purpose of the position is to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate sexual health programs that build the capacity of services to deliver best practice clinical services and/or evidence based health promotion programs to the people of NSW. NSW priority populations include young people, Aboriginal people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities and people with HIV. The position will work in close partnerships with Local Health Districts (including NSW Publicly Funded Sexual Health Services, HIV/AIDS and Related Programs and other healthcare settings), Primary Health Networks and training organisations. Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and evaluating programs and/or communication strategies to address sexual health issues. 2. Demonstrated understanding of cultural differences in high risk population groups in relation to sexual health issues. 3. Sound understanding of concepts in the application of evidence based practice, service design and/or health promotion. 4. High level negotiation, verbal and written communication skills, and influencing and persuasion skills for a diversity of audiences, including sexual health services, the general public, government, partner agencies and non-government organisations. 5. Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures. 6. Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment. 7. Appropriate tertiary qualifications and experience in a health related field, or demonstrated equivalent relevant professional experience. 8. Current Drivers licence and willingness to travel across NSW to meet the demands of the position.
