At the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), we are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Security Officer to join our team.
About the RoleThe Nuclear Security Officer will be responsible for implementing activities related to the security and/or safety of radioactive material, associated facilities, and associated activities. This includes working with national and international organizations or institutes, and the IAEA in particular, to deliver projects aimed at supporting States in implementing the provisions of the Code of Conduct and its supplementary guidance for radiation safety and nuclear security.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and review technical/scientific publications and training material related to nuclear security.
- Design programs/projects that support States in implementing safety and/or security provisions contained in international instruments and guidance documents relevant to the post.
- Build strategic partnerships and alliances with key stakeholders and partners to recommend opportunities for collaboration.
- Implement activities related to the security and/or safety of radioactive material, associated facilities, and associated activities.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An advanced degree in Science, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least seven years of relevant experience in implementing activities related to the security and/or safety of radioactive material, associated facilities, and associated activities.
- Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages is an asset.
