Project Risk Engineer

Venergi GmbH is a joint venture between Wien Energie and Ramboll, driving the green energy transition in Vienna through integrated, sustainable solutions. We are seeking a skilled Project Risk Engineer to join our team and contribute to making Vienna the most resilient and liveable city of the future.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive risk management plans and strategies for various projects within the decarbonisation space.
  • Facilitate workshops to identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring all aspects of the project align with the established risk framework.
  • Oversee daily risk follow-up and prepare detailed risk reports for project management, steering committees, and regulatory authorities.
  • Travel to customer sites as required to work on designated projects.
Project Focus:

The successful candidate will contribute to diverse projects within energy transition, including:

  • Modernisation of existing energy production facilities, such as upgrading a waste incineration plant based on the circular economy.
  • Construction of new alternative energy generation plants, such as biomass, wind farm, or geothermal facilities.
  • Hydrogen production or application, including the construction of hydrogen production facilities.
  • Combined generation plants for heating and cooling energy as well as electricity, such as natural gas and renewable energy sources.
  • Waste generation and management, including the construction of recycling plants, plants for the treatment of sewage sludge, and phosphorus recovery.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Several years of experience working with qualitative risk analysis, ideally in construction, consulting, or similar industries.
  • Proficiency with risk management tools, such as RamRisk or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and manage workshops.
  • Project management experience.
  • Fluency in German and English.
