About the Role
Alstom is seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team in Vienna. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring high-quality materials and services to support our business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and launch Requests for Quotation with suppliers
- Lead project negotiations to secure the best possible terms
- Monitor procurement projects to ensure Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Technology (QCDT) requirements are met
- Ensure work package sheet commitments are respected
- Prepare Business Awards and ensure compliance with Alstom's Code of Ethics
- Coordinate projects with all levels, including global, regional, and local teams
- Ensure timely delivery and quality are secured, especially during project ramp-up phases
- Consolidate commodity needs and inputs
- Participate in commodity strategy and panel elaboration
- Provide inputs to build differentiation
- Support the Commodity Manager in the tender phase
- Represent commodities towards projects, platforms, and solutions
- Ensure effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders in problem-solving
- Support global supplier panel relationships
- Manage specific supplier panel relationships, including negotiation and performance management
- Measure and develop supplier performance in coordination with the supplier Quality Team
- Assess and manage risky suppliers, developing mitigation plans as needed
- Manage initial issues before escalation to the line manager
About You
We value passion and attitude over experience. To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Engineering or Business School background, or similar experience levels
- Sourcing professional background, with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in direct materials (production)
- Fluency in English and German, with a strong understanding of procurement principles and practices
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
