Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct literature research on hybrid CAA approaches and current methods.
  • Utilize Partially Averaged Navier-Stokes (PANS) equations to compute acoustic source terms with FIRE M.
  • Analyze and compare the results of LES and PANS simulations to assess the differences in the provided source terms.
  • Apply AVL FIRE M in combination with openCFS as the second software tool to simulate the incompressible turbulent flow field and acoustic wave propagation.
  • Analyze and compare the obtained flow and acoustic results with relevant literature for validation purposes.

Requirements:

  • Ongoing master studies in Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, or similar fields.
  • Programming skills in Python, C, Fortran for data analysis and post-processing tasks.
  • Experience with 3D CFD simulation and meshing is beneficial.
  • Background knowledge in aerodynamics and acoustics recommended but not required.
  • Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficient language skills in English or German.
