System Engineer for Air Traffic Management

Job Overview

Frequentis is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. We are looking for a skilled System Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for Air Traffic Management (ATM) communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, setup, integration, and acceptance of systems at customer sites
  • Technical contact person for customers during ongoing projects
  • Configuration and setup of IT and network components, as well as Frequentis products, in safety-critical environments
  • Clarification of technical feasibility, system architecture design, and cost-benefit optimization
  • Coordination of internal and external suppliers, including documentation, testing, and software development departments
Requirements
  • Relevant professional experience as a system engineer or system administrator, ideally 3 years
  • Technical background in IT (OS, network), regardless of whether an apprentice, graduate, or career changer
  • Experience with networks (Layer2 + Layer3) and knowledge of protocols (UDP, TCP, multicast)
  • Practical experience with Linux, knowledge of telecommunication interfaces and protocols an advantage
  • Good level of English, any other foreign language an advantage (especially Portuguese or Spanish)
