Senior Mainframe Architect

We are part of Erste Group, the largest banking group in Central and Eastern Europe, with over 2,500 branches and 45,000 employees. Our IT experts and enthusiasts are the bank's Digital Muscle.

The Payments Services Department is responsible for the smooth operation of national and international payment transactions and central compliance screening within the Erste Group. This makes us part of numerous national and international projects and often part of pilot projects in the financial industry.

As a Senior Mainframe Architect, you will be responsible for the architecture and design of the central Erste Group Payments System. You will analyze and evaluate the existing system architecture, identify improvement potentials and enhancements, and collaborate with the solution management team to design technical solutions that align with new specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement concepts for complex software solutions
  • Ensure security, scalability, and performance of the Payments System
  • Collaborate with the solution management team to design technical solutions
  • Continuous review and updating of the system architecture

Requirements:

  • Proven record of experience as a Mainframe Software Architect or in a similar position
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in mainframe technologies and systems, specifically in Natural/Adabas or COBOL/DB2
  • Expertise in designing and implementing concepts for complex software solutions
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking approach, and ability to dig through complex systems
  • Strong communication skills in English and German
