Power Module Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Power Module Design Engineer to join our team at Magna International. As a key member of our powertrain systems development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative power modules for traction drives.
Your primary focus will be on designing power modules for inverters used in traction drives, with a focus on voltages up to 1000 V and currents up to 800 A. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure that our products meet the highest quality standards and customer requirements.
Responsibilities- Create concepts and design specifications for new power modules
- Support the designs during the initial prototype phase of power modules
- Plan and set up test benches for design verification (developer tests)
- Perform developer tests, including analyzing and documenting the results
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in power electronics and semiconductor design. The ideal candidate will have a degree from a technical university in the field of semiconductors/electronics or electrical engineering/technical physics, and at least 5 years of experience in the field of semiconductor design.
Additionally, the candidate should have a strong understanding of automotive systems and experience with power electronics design tools. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required, and German language skills are highly appreciated.
