Your primary responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborate with the Head of Compliance & Legal and local leadership to spearhead compliance and risk management initiatives that align with business objectives while safeguarding the organization and optimally serving our customers and patients.
  2. Offer expert guidance on and ensure adherence to the unit's Commercial Policy.
  3. Proactively manage audit preparedness, coordinate audits, and implement necessary remediation actions.
  4. Advise and influence business decisions to ensure alignment with external regulations and Sandoz principles.
  5. Facilitate the simplification and clarification of Sandoz Austria policies and procedures.
  6. Engage with external stakeholders and Regional Compliance to shape the external landscape, enhancing patient access and strengthening compliance standards.
  7. Oversee and train on all compliance tools.
  8. Foster a culture of compliance through awareness initiatives, training sessions, and monitoring activities.
  9. Develop and refine the ethics, risk, and compliance program to adapt to evolving requirements and uphold high standards of operational excellence.
  10. Support global processes and policies, including compliance regulations regarding interactions with healthcare professionals and organizations, conflict of interest, risk monitoring, audits, third-party risk management, and contract management.
  11. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance and fortify the compliance culture, addressing risks efficiently and effectively.
  12. Assist in investigations conducted by authorities, corporate security, and whistleblowing initiatives as necessary.
  13. Provide legal counsel and guidance to the business while ensuring compliance with legal obligations.
  14. Conduct training on legal matters such as dawn raid guidance, fair competition, pharmaceutical advertising, and legal onboarding.
  15. Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of Legal SharePoint and contract templates for interactions with healthcare professionals and organizations.
  16. Advise on contractual and statutory obligations, manage disputes and litigation, and support management decision-making processes with legal risk assessments.
  17. Assist the Head of Legal and Compliance with contractual legal matters as required.
  18. Represent the Head of Legal & Compliance in leadership discussions.
  19. Manage contract applications and legal reporting.
Qualifications for the role:
  1. Graduate of an Austrian Law School.
  2. Fluency in English and German is essential.
  3. A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience is required, ideally within a healthcare or pharmaceutical setting, or with a prestigious law firm serving healthcare and technology clients.
  4. Experience in managing legal and compliance projects in a dynamic environment is necessary.
  5. A strategic mindset with excellent judgment in complex organizational contexts, along with a proactive and dynamic approach that promotes informed decision-making.
  6. Proven ability to navigate challenging topics under tight deadlines.
  7. Demonstrated capability to manage multiple tasks in a calm, resilient, and professional manner, handling ethical and investigative matters with discretion.
  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with proven leadership abilities.
  9. Financial acumen and business partnering skills are essential.
  10. Exhibit professional and culturally sensitive work ethics.

In accordance with Austrian law, we are required to disclose the minimum salary as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position, the minimum salary is € 64.023,54/year (on a full-time basis).
