Process Engineer for Green Hydrogen Solutions

About the Role
This position is for a skilled Process Engineer to support the development of innovative green hydrogen and renewable fuel solutions. As a Process Engineer at ANDRITZ, you will contribute to the design and optimization of plant concepts, focusing on integrated mass and energy balances.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize plant concepts by combining core processes of electrolysis, carbon capture, and synthesis.
- Design and implement mass- and energy balance calculations and related process flow diagrams.
- Collaborate with the technology development team to develop innovative concepts for process modularization and standardization.
- Optimize the integration with adjacent processes, such as power supply, CO2 capture, and e-fuel production, under intermittent power profiles.
- Develop integrated process simulation models and analyze them for CapEx and OpEx optimization along the full value chain.
- Work closely with project management and various disciplines to ensure seamless integration.
- Prepare media consumption figures and collect required media qualities in close cooperation with process engineers.
- Collect and provide emission data for effluent, heat, noise, gas, and other parameters.
- Design, size, and implement sub-systems and components, including water purification, hydrogen and oxygen purification, and nitrogen supply units.
- Review piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) throughout the project lifecycle.
- Optimize system solutions by reviewing static and dynamic mass- and energy balance results.
- Align and improve control strategies and maintenance philosophies.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA studies.
- Prepare and manage equipment and component lists.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders and clarify technical solutions for customers.
Requirements
- Master's degree in chemical process engineering with proven numeric simulation competences.
- Minimum three years of experience in lead process engineering functions in EPC projects for the chemical industry.
- Familiarity with process simulation programs.
- Strong communication, analytical, and planning skills.
- Fluent in English, with another European language being an advantage.
- Ability to explain design solutions in an engaging manner.
