Construction Environment Manager

Gleeds is seeking a highly skilled Construction Environment Manager to oversee environmental risks, permit requirements, and identify opportunities for improvements to the general contractor's performance and outcomes.
Responsibilities- Promote good environmental management and permit compliance as key aspects of all site works.
- Provide comments on the general contractor's method statements, the construction environmental management plan, process and procedure to ensure that all environmental risks and mitigated are considered appropriately.
- Timely review of all permits on site to ensure they are appropriate for construction and operations as per the design.
- Work closely with the EHS staff to address any collaborative risks.
- Attend site and Client meetings as required.
- Undertake regular site walkovers.
- Provide a strong Client presence on site, working with and supporting the general contractor's EHS staff.
- Provide the data centre operations manager with environmental support for interpreting environmental and social aspects of the project and permits.
- Keep a tracker spreadsheet to log environmental events or incidences.
- Provide regular reports to the Client.
- Provide handover support to client's operations team to ensure sufficient understanding of permit and legislative requirements, include providing legislative matrices, training and compliance advice.
- Remain in the remit of your role and when additional responsibilities need to be carried out, conduct this in a fully informed manner with the approval of your line manager.
We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in environmental compliance management within the construction sector, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
You will have excellent knowledge of European environmental regulations impacting the construction industry, with knowledge of national (Austrian) regulations being highly desirable.
You will also have the ability to handle and interpret large amounts of information and confidential information, with strong analytical skills and the ability to integrate with teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with fluency in English and knowledge of German being preferred.
