About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Leader Process Analytics and Development to join our team in Schaftenau, Austria. This individual will be responsible for leading our Process Analytical Sciences (PAS) organization in Schaftenau and Kundl, Austria, as part of our Technical Research & Development (TRD) Biologics department.

The successful candidate will also serve as site head for Analytical Development (AD) and will represent AD in the TRD Biologics site leadership team. Additionally, they will act as operational manager for multiple teams, with responsibility for over 80 associates.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead Process Analytical Sciences in Schaftenau and Kundl, Austria, as part of TRD Biologics
  • Act as site head for Analytical Development (AD) and represent AD in the TRD Biologics site leadership team
  • Operate as an operational manager for multiple teams, overseeing more than 80 associates
  • Drive PAS Austria, focusing on state-of-the-art non-GMP physico-chemical method development and testing to support allocated pipeline and life-cycle management projects across new biological entities (NBEs) and Biosimilars, ensuring best-in-class knowledge, skills, and expertise
  • Translate and execute the PAS strategic directions
  • Energize timely and robust non-GMP physico-chemical analytical testing to support drug substance and drug product process development activities
  • Promote high-quality transfer of analytical methods to Analytical Operations
  • Ensure timely and high-quality preparation of all relevant technical documents for health authority interactions (e.g., investigational new drug application (IND) / investigational medicinal product dossier (IMPD), Biologics License Application (BLA))

  • Strong technical and scientific knowledge of pharmaceutical/chemical/analytics/QC/equivalent
  • Proven track record of attracting, developing, and retaining talent
  • University degree (Master/Ph.D. or equivalent) in life sciences
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership position with successful performance and track record of leading teams
