We are seeking a dedicated Sous Chef (m/f/d) for a prestigious 5-star hotel in Salzburg.

In the absence of the Head Chef, the Sous Chef plays a crucial role in maintaining efficient kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing dish preparation and managing shift operations during service hours across all kitchen areas
  • Maximizing kitchen efficiency
  • Training culinary apprentices and integrating new staff members
  • Adhering to the established food budget
  • Contributing innovative ideas across all culinary sectors (dishes, ingredients, supplies, etc.)
  • Assisting the Executive Chef in various operational matters
  • Setting an example in executing meal planning according to the Executive Chef's vision
  • Conducting product control, including the receipt of goods
  • Monitoring cold storage areas in compliance with HACCP standards and participating in inventory management
  • Engaging in continuous education and staying updated on new culinary trends for implementation

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Preferred: Experience in banquet and seminar settings
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or substantial experience as a Chef de Partie
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities
  • High level of culinary expertise and significant leadership experience
  • Creativity and adaptability
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly
