Job Title: Financial Sanctions Expert

Erste Group, a leading banking group in Central and Eastern Europe, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Sanctions Expert to join its team. As a key member of the Correspondent Banking AML & Financial Sanctions department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the bank's compliance with European and international financial sanctions regimes and embargoes.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a central point of contact for all entities within Erste Group regarding financial sanctions and embargoes.
  • Monitor and interpret developments in sanctions and embargoes regulations, implementing and adapting policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Support decision-making on escalated cases related to sanctions and embargoes matters.
  • Provide guidance and training to business units and Compliance functions on sanctions and embargoes compliance.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure effective implementation of sanctions and embargoes policies and procedures.

Your Background:

  • University degree in Law with a minimum of 5 years of experience in banking, law firms, regulatory authorities, or relevant organizations.
  • Expert knowledge of compliance-related legislation related to financial sanctions, embargoes, and export control law.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing regulations.
  • Fluency in English (German and/or any CEE language an advantage).
