Start your journey with our exclusive 12-month immersive trainee and apprentice program then a further 12-month traineeship designed to unlock your potential (total 24 months).
This will be your foundation as we continue to support you in achieving your qualification and empower you to shape your future.
This training is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through its Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.

Commencing in March 2025, our program provides professional development training and on-the-job experience pathways, designed to help you become qualified in your chosen career.
As a trainee and apprentice of the City, you will have many opportunities available to you:

Tailored learning including work-based training and an extensive range of personal, professional, and career development training designed to set you up for success.
Assistance and support on your path to accreditation.

With a growing population and major events such as the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic games on the horizon, the City is faced with endless opportunities.
In the role of Trainee Building Inspector, you will form part of a team that ensures the safety and compliance of buildings, pools, and assets within the City of Gold Coast.
This is a unique role that will provide hands-on experience in building inspections, including site visits, plan assessments, and compliance checks.
You will contribute to a safer and more sustainable city by enforcing building codes and standards.
Inspect swimming pools and their fences and existing buildings to ensure compliance with building requirements and regulations.
Assess approved plans and development permits.
Respond to complaints and conduct investigations to identify and resolve building requirement violations.
Issue notices and orders to rectify building non-compliances and safety issues.
Advise builders, developers, and property owners on building regulations and standards.

Have successfully completed Year 12.
Applicants must have full working rights in Australia for the duration of the qualification and be able to work full-time.
