The Mulberry Group is a Melbourne-based hospitality group founded in 2011 by Nathan Toleman. Our venues today include Hazel, Dessous, Liminal, Lilac Wine, Heide Kitchen, Square One Coffee Roasters and our regenerative agricultural farm and social enterprise, Common Ground Project. Across our venues we now have a team of over 170 amazing people, and counting.Our mission is to create authentic experiences so that we can support our community through positive social and environmental impact.At Hazel our chefs pursue a thoughtful and DIY approach on their menus, taking time to create food that's wholesome yet deeply flavourful. Our ingredients are sourced from small scale producers that our chefs know, trust and respect, who have a commitment to quality and sustainability. We respect classical approaches to cooking though with a modern Australian touch.About the roleAs the Assistant Venue Manager reporting directly to the Venue Manager, you will be responsible for:Assisting the Venue Manager with building and leading the team.Leading by example to promote a positive workplace culture.Helping to maintain high standards of service and ambience in the venue.Ensuring that the guest experience delivered is aligned with the identity of the venue.Creating lasting connections and relationships with the local community.Assisting the Venue Manager in driving the financial performance of the venue.Ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations of the venue.Assisting the Venue Manager with the ongoing training, coaching, and development of the team.About youWe are looking for someone who displays:A genuine passion for delivering warm and engaging hospitality.The ability to lead and continuously develop the FOH team.The ability to perform during high-pressure service periods and be highly adaptable.A talent for multitasking and problem-solving.A proactive nature and the initiative to drive growth and improvement throughout the venue.Shared passion for our values.Our ValuesOur company values are Passion, Authenticity, Connection, and Empathy.
