Senior Development Manager

Purpose of the roleTo generate new business, develop solar, wind, BESS and hybrid projects and carry out supplementary tasks to ensure that the Business Development team reach their set targets.Duties and responsibilitiesTo originate, develop and optimise solar, wind, BESS and hybrid projectsTo manage a team of developersTo manage the development of a portfolio of in-house developed, introduced and/or acquired projects from initiation to financial closeTo develop new business opportunitiesTo develop strong working relationships and liaise closely with other business divisions including engineering, planning, grid, energy markets, delivery, legal and finance to assist in the development of projectsTo align development strategy with specific strategic objectivesTo increase our industry presence and influence through engagement with key stakeholdersTo align with and participate in state specific industry groupsTo assist other developers by carrying out supporting activities when neededTo understand and develop company strategies and develop business and business practices accordinglyTo work with the Development team and other departments to improve processes and efficiency.In addition, the Employee will perform such other duties, appropriate to the position as the Company may from time to time require.PERSONAL SKILLSKnowledge- Excellent communication and negotiation skills required- Understanding of renewables industry, energy and environmental issues- Technical understanding of solar, wind and BESS development and construction- Understanding of environmental planning constraints- Understanding of commercial activities including financial models, funding arrangements and legals- Varied experience in private and public sector, showing adaptability and ability to learn quickly.Work SkillsDriving LicenseGeneral Skills/AttributesProfessional and TechnicalAbility to develop and update professional knowledge and skills.Ability to apply professional knowledge and skills in advancement of business objectives.ServicesCarries out development of Solar sites.Quickly and successfully implements changes and improvements in operational activities and services.Effectively carries out tasks that are required by the Development team in addition to carrying out own role.StrategyAdapts to changes in Lightsource's and Development team's strategy whilst developing own strategy to achieve personal goal of competently developing projects.PeopleAssesses own development needs and develops self to improve job performance and fulfil future potential.Contributes to the team ethos of Lightsource.Information and CommunicationThe ability to evaluate and convey complex information to others in an effective manner through persuasive communication, negotiating skills and clear presentation skills in both verbal and written contexts.Experience Required• Bachelors Degree in related disciplineProven track record of:B2C and B2B engagementManagement of utility-scale Solar, Wind, and or BESS development projects from initiation to financial closeDeveloping and managing work projects, deadlines and task-related resourcesAdapting to new challenges and learning swiftlyCompleting tasks on schedule with excellent qualityNegotiation skills and communication skillsWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
