About the role Working as a Payroll Manager, reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will be overseeing and delivering accurate and compliant payroll and administration support in alignment with the organisation's objectives.
Key accountabilities of the role would include: Payroll Processing in an accurate and timely manner Maintaining and managing employee records, including fringe benefits and salary packaging arrangements Ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation of salary and wage payments, including end-of-year payment summaries via ATO single-touch payroll Compliance and reporting: maintaining integrity and compliance of payroll data as well as providing accurate and timely information and reports, including costing, budgeting, and location reports Supporting auditors with payroll and personnel data as required Processing Workers' Compensation claims and maintaining necessary follow-up actions Report preparation for external organisations Maintaining and enhancing the payroll system to ensure efficiency and compliance Performing periodic system audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity Providing Employee Support and Guidance on salary packaging, setup, and inquiries Addressing employee payroll inquiries and resolving issues efficiently Staying informed about relevant legislative changes affecting payroll, taxation, and employment law Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance payroll efficienc What will you bring to the role?
Relevant tertiary qualification in Payroll, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred) Minimum 3 years' experience in Payroll within a medium to large organisation Proficiency in payroll systems and advanced Excel skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines in a dynamic environment Who is Southern Cross Care Queensland?
Southern Cross Care Queensland (SCCQ) is a Catholic not-for-profit organisation established by the Knights of the Southern Cross, more than 40 years ago.
They saw a need to provide compassionate care and inclusive service to some of the most vulnerable, the ageing population, in the community.
Since then, SCCQ has grown to employ over 1400 staff caring for and supporting more than 2000 people across 13 residential aged care homes, 5 retirement villages, 28 social houses, the National Disability and Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and home care services in metropolitan and rural Queensland.
From July 1st, 2024 Southern Cross Care QLD has committed to helping Southern Cross Care Broken Hill manage all their services.
