We are looking for a passionate Learn to Play Basketball Instructor at the Ryde Community Sports Centre who will join a small team of enthusiastic sport fanatics who have a true energy for success and eagerness to support the local community.
About the role The Ryde Community Sports Centre is a 2-court indoor sports stadium and our staff prides themselves in delivering quality sports programs in Basketball, Netball, Futsal and Outdoor Soccer in the warmer months
As a Learn to Play Instructor, you will be responsible for leading engaging and age-appropriate basketball lessons for young children, focusing on basic skills, sportsmanship, and fun.
Your responsibilities will include: Leading basketball classes for children, ages 5-16, in a safe, encouraging, and fun environmentEnsuring the smooth operation of each class and maintaining a positive atmosphereProviding instruction in basketball fundamentals, teamwork, and fitnessBuilding strong relationships with children, parents, and the communityAbout You You are passionate about working with children and sports, and you thrive in a positive, energetic setting.

As a Learn to Play Basketball Instructor, you'll be the first point of contact for young learners and their families, guiding them through fun, skill-building sessions that promote teamwork, coordination, and a love for the game.
You will also come with the following Current CPR and First aid certificateBasketball coaching experience (desirable but not necessary)Passion for coaching kids and seeing them exceedRecreation Our Recreation Team is a close-knit community of energetic people-people, with a passion for staying active and helping others.
From our Duty Managers and Customer Service Officers, to our Instructors and Coordinators, the team are responsible for transforming our 18 Recreation Centres into warm, inclusive and safe spaces - providing access to health, fitness and recreation opportunities for those who need it most.
