Scheme Management Group (SMG) contributes to Comcare's purpose to promote and enable safe and healthy work through excellence in scheme design and management.
SMG is insight driven and works with scheme participants to achieve sustainable and better practice national schemes.

This work supports evidence-based decision-making and will assist Comcare achieve its corporate goal of excellence in scheme management and design.

The Office of the Chief Data and Analytics Officer (OCDAO) team is part of SMG and is responsible for ensuring that Comcare takes a mature and sophisticated approach to the management and use of data.
To achieve that, the OCDAO works across Comcare to:
Deliver better insights through new platforms and capability uplift.
Ensure data architecture and data models cater for versatile reporting and analytics needs.
Delineate impacts within our data environment to facilitate a better understanding and implementation of effective controls.
Create a framework that helps people understand their responsibilities when it comes to data.
Embed continuous improvement in process and quality of data captures.
Ensure consistency in the description of common data terms.
Ensure data is leveraged effectively to solve business problems.
Enable data capability gaps to be identified and addressed across Comcare so that Groups can be more self-sufficient in working with data.

Data Operations and Products develop the ability of Comcare to acquire, use and share information, in order to develop greater insights and guide priorities related to the management and design of Comcare's scheme.

This work supports evidence-based decision-making and will assist Comcare achieve its corporate goal of excellence in scheme management and design.

Overview of the Role
The Director Data Operations and Products will be responsible for making sound decisions related to strategic and operational matters with a specific focus around the application of data governance, performance reporting, analysis and data science to improve outcomes for Comcare.

The Director provides strategic leadership and expertise to a team responsible for delivering performance reporting, data science, analytical and intelligence insights for the Comcare scheme.

As Director you will play a key role in building organisational capability through assisting in the progression of Comcare's data strategy, providing oversight and leadership on a number of projects aimed at improving Comcare's data maturity.

Mandatory Qualifications/Experience
Demonstrated experience designing and executing delivery of effective whole of agency frameworks or projects.
A relevant degree or industry qualifications.
Eligibility and Specific Conditions of Employment
Character clearance (police records check).
Health clearance.
Six months probationary period for new engagements.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
