The Assurance, Integrity, Risk and Governance Branch leads the department's pro-integrity culture to ensure it meets all relevant governance, risk management, and assurance requirements including supporting Executive committees, overseeing the Risk Management Policy and Framework and Integrity Strategy, administering the department's disaster preparedness arrangements, undertaking fraud investigations, managing the internal audit program, and providing audit liaison services to the department, as well as engagement with the Australian National Audit Office across a range of external audits.
The Branch also manages the department's Performance Reporting Framework and supports the department to meet its performance reporting obligations.
The Branch works directly with performance measure owners to ensure measures meet legislative requirements and provide a complete performance picture for the department; as well as overseeing the production of the Corporate Plan and Annual Report.
Being part of the Branch provides a unique opportunity to gain an overall view of the department's broad scope of policy, program, and regulatory activities.
This is an opportunity for people who are keen to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team, get an aerial view of everything the department is responsible for, and gain an in-depth understanding of the department's planning, reporting, and compliance obligations as a non-corporate Commonwealth entity under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act (PGPA) 2013, The PGPA Rule 2014, and subsequent Resource Management Guides.
The opportunity we have available Effective performance reporting ensures objectives are achieved, promotes accountability, and builds organisational capability and culture to manage risks and deliver priorities.
The Director, Performance & Corporate Reporting leads the team responsible for overseeing the performance reporting framework for the department in accordance with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013, Rule 2014 and supporting Resource Management Guides.
The Director is also responsible for overseeing the production of the Corporate Plan and Annual Report each year.
This is an opportunity for someone who is keen to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team, get a bird's eye view of the broad range of the department's responsibilities.
The key duties of the position include: What will you do?
Managing the delivery of the department's performance framework for inclusion in the Portfolio Budget Statements, corporate plan, and annual report, including coordinating input from divisions across the department.
Supporting business divisions to develop performance information aligned to the department's frameworks and PGPA requirements.
Frequent liaison with senior executive, the Secretary's office, and the Ministers' Offices.
Managing and developing relationships with internal and external clients, service providers, and other stakeholders.
Promoting better practice, good governance and empowering and supporting departmental employees.
Ensuring record-keeping practices are current and effective.
Leading the engagement with ANAO on the department's performance framework.
The skills and experience gained from working in the branch are highly transferable, either to build a career in the assurance, performance, and integrity fields or to broaden your experience for other roles across the APS.
A merit pool may be established for a period of 18 months from the date of this advertisement as a result of the selection process.

We currently have one EL2 position available but will be developing a merit pool for future roles for both Performance Reporting and Corporate Reporting.
