Add expected salary to your profile for insightsAbout the roleNicon Built is seeking an experienced and capable Site Manager / Leading Hand to join our team in Port Melbourne, Victoria.
Your role will require you to be on the tools as well as managing projects to deliver on time and to the highest quality standards.What you'll be doingEffectively working on all facets of carpentry / Building on current projectsReporting to the Construction Manager / Project ManagerInstruct and supervise carpenters and labourers on-site to ensure standards and timeframes are metInstruct and manage sub-contractors onsiteAdhere to building program set out by the Construction ManagerEnforce building complianceMaintain communication between clients, trades, designers, project administrator and directorsUnderstand the importance of maintaining friendly and constructive relationships with all involved in the projects at handBook in all required building inspections and follow up until the approved inspection certificate is receivedEnsure project expenses remain within budgetsEnsure subcontractors are working effectively and tidy up after themselves - setting expectations and monitoring performance of subcontractorsOrganise deliveries of suppliersProactively identify issues and reportManage defects and quality controlEnsure all permit conditions are metAct as a conduit between sites and officeProvide and review complete plans and documentation with trades prior to commencement of workEnsure compliance with OH&S legislationManage and reduce Extra to Orders (ETOs) requiredWhat we're looking forProven experience in supervising Residential Housing (Bespoke New Builds, Heritage Renovations & Additions) 3+ years' experienceDemonstrated communication, organisational and time management skillsThe ability to multi-task and have a flexible and adaptable approachAbility to use basic computer operating systems and operating softwareQualified Carpentry Background (ESSENTIAL)Certificate IVAbout usNicon Built is a Boutique Residential Construction Company working predominately in Melbourne's Inner & Bayside Suburbs.
