As the Marine Fleet Manager in the Defence Marine Support Services (DMSS) team, you will play a pivotal role in managing the safety and compliance of a fleet of vessels, driving performance improvements, overseeing vessel SMS, and supporting the training and development of our marine professional staff.
Your ImpactAs the Marine Fleet Manager in the DMSS team, you will make a positive impact by:
Ensuring all vessels adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements under the National Law.Overseeing marine incident investigations and response and providing subject matter expertise in the maritime domain.Managing and supporting the training and qualification tracking for marine staff.Analysing fleet performance metrics to enhance efficiency and productivity.Supporting fleet budget management and overseeing regulatory compliance.Participating in broader marine business unit compliance and strategic initiatives.What We Are Looking ForTo be successful in this role you'll have:
Comprehensive knowledge of Australian and International Marine legislation and standards.WHS / transport incident investigation and audit skills.Experience in a maritime operational / at-sea environment favourable.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Maritime qualifications or significant experience in marine operations or marine fleet (vessel) management.Completion of Safety or Investigation Studies at Cert IV or Associate Diploma Level (Marine exposure, Fleet management, Transport safety investigation) favourable.NSCV (AMSA National Law) experience including vessel Safety Management System, and SMS application and regulatory exposure.Marine Fleet management or maritime vessel (inshore / offshore) experience favourable.Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Baseline Defence Security Clearance - (candidates must be Australian Citizens).Why Join Serco?As a fast-growing and successful global company, Serco ASPAC services span across the areas of maritime, justice, immigration, defence, space, customer services, health, and urban mobility.
