National Account Manager - Distributors and Wholesalers Job Description:
This National Account Manager, or as we would call you, Customer Development Lead, is pivotal in developing and managing the relationship with a key customer in the Specialist Petcare Channel.
You'll develop and implement joint business initiatives to drive brand and category growth.
Ultimately this role will help drive our purpose of a Better World for Pets (and of course, their loving pet parents).
As an experienced and capable account management professional, our ideal candidate will use their in-depth knowledge and understanding of account management principles and priorities to champion the acceleration of their accounts business.
Curious, agile, tenacious, and commercially driven – they will couple their skills and agility with an ability to build collaborative relationships and influence others to unlock the potential with mutual outcomes.
Ultimately, this role will manage the partnerships between Mars and the Specialist Channel Small Corporate's, Independent Retailers, Wholesalers and Distributors.
What are we looking for?
Knowledge of and experience in customer relationship management of Independent retailers.
Potential experience in Field based role would be well regarded.
Knowledge of basic principles of category, promotional effectiveness and commercial understanding.
Degree qualified preferred, but not essential.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Account management of the customer portfolio including all areas of pricing, promotion, execution, category management, activation, and NPD/distribution.
Contribute to the total financial performance of the Specialist Channel by delivering against agreed targets, both internally and for the customer.
Identify pet and online category solutions that drive long term sustainable business growth for Mars and our customers, and translate these into action through collaboration and partnership.
Establish and maintain key partnerships across all divisions (marketing, development etc) to ensure detailed understanding of customer capability and strategic direction to identify opportunities to partner, activate, share expertise/data, and drive mutual growth.
Contribute to the Mars S&OP process through ownership of demand planning responsibilities such as promotional forecasting and Step 2 Feeder inputs, with all activities delivered in line with supply lead times and external customer expectations.
Lead the range review/JBP process internally and externally in line with customer review timings and Mars Petcare deployment processes, through collaboration with internal stakeholders to grow Mars Petcare share, range and space.
