Job Opportunity – Procurement Manager We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager.
This instrumental role is responsible for managing ALG's commercial supply of goods, materials and services within company policy and procedures.

This role focuses on strategic buying through preferred vendors concentrating on SIFOT and cost saving activities.
Highlight and problem solve areas of concern relating to continuous supply of goods to support Sales and Production requirements.
The Opportunity Be part of a collaborative and values-driven team.Benefit from a generous remuneration package, including competitive salary and staff benefits.Thrive in a rewarding team culture with opportunities for professional growth.Key Responsibilities: Supplier Negotiations and Relationships Negotiation of trading terms with new and current overseas suppliers.Responsible for all contracts with new local/overseas vendors, including trading terms, and ALG's performance requirements.Responsible for establishing the supply chain for new products with local/overseas vendors in collaboration with Design and Technical Teams.Maintain good communications with strategic suppliers.Purchasing and Material Resource Planning Ensure purchasing and material resource planning are aligned to ALG business plan.Analyse quarterly price reviews from strategic suppliers and negotiate best pricing to ensure the lowest cost impact to ALG business.Manage purchases based on MRP & ROP requirements for key suppliers to support both Sales and Production.Vendor Management and Performance Monitoring Review goods returns and quality claims/advice with overseas suppliers.
This is a joint responsibility with Technical and Quality team (50/50 split).Review Outstanding PO reports on suppliers weekly and report issues.Maintain an awareness of priority lists with suppliers for parts that are late and have shortages.Review Vendor performance report and communicate performance results to suppliers regularly.Reporting and Analysis Manage month-end reporting for the Purchasing team.Attend Monthly Operations and S&OP meetings and take necessary corrective actions.Review and take corrective actions for stock holdings where shortages occur or de-expedite if stock holdings are too high.Ensure purchase pricing and costs are current and report on variances.Purchase Price and Quotation Management Action purchase price quotations for new parts, in collaboration with the design team (50/50 split).Manage the control of import schedules and communicate as appropriate.ERP and Data Integrity Ensure integrity of purchasing data in ALG's ERP system and processes are working correctly.Procurement Troubleshooting and Corrective Actions Commercial procurement troubleshooting and corrective actions where required.Ensure Purchasing Work Instructions are kept updated.Team Management and Development Supervise and train Purchasing Officers to ensure multi-functionality.Perform Performance Appraisals for purchasing staff.Manage Purchasing Officers' roles when absent.Your purpose You will lead a dedicated team to manage strategic vendor relationships and ensure seamless procurement operations.
By driving cost efficiency, ensuring supply chain reliability, and fostering a collaborative team culture, you will contribute to ALG's mission of delivering exceptional architectural solutions.
To be considered for this role you should have: Tertiary qualifications in purchasing and management.Proficiency in Demand Management and Forecasting Software.Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and Word.Strong time management and organizational abilities.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Epicor knowledge is favourable.Certified in Planning and Inventory (APICS qualifications).Experience in commercial sourcing and procurement of materials/products.Please ensure your cover letter addresses your suitability for the role.
