Core workplace objectives To lead and manage the welfare program by recruiting, training, and supporting welfare staff, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and implementing strategies to enhance the well-being, safety, and success of students.
This includes overseeing staff development, coordinating training, addressing welfare issues, analysing data to identify trends, and collaborating with the Indie management team and external stakeholders to improve the overall effectiveness of the welfare services provided.
Workplace tasking and key responsibilities Support Executive Manager in implementing and reviewing strategic plan.Manage and develop Welfare Management team.Conduct monthly supervision sessions for Welfare Managers.Create and update welfare-related policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and reflecting best practice.Utilise data and feedback to assess and address welfare needs, gaps, and trends.Coordinate and lead training sessions to address skills gaps and foster growth.Review current systems and efficiency of reporting mechanisms.Implement improvements to enhance data management and reporting processes.Propose solutions based on data and staff input to address identified needs and improve welfare services.Build strong internal relationships with the Indie management team and key external stakeholders.Welfare Services Have a comprehensive understanding of child safe practices, mandatory reporting legislation, policies, and procedures in State/s of operation.Recruit, train, support, and develop welfare staff in areas pertaining to Indie's welfare program.Conduct monthly supervision sessions for all welfare staff to monitor progress, address concerns, provide support, and promote professional growth.Collate and analyse reports related to welfare needs, gaps, trends, and student requirements.Propose solutions based on data and staff input to address identified needs and improve welfare services and practices.Coordinate, delegate, and support the development of internal training programs for students, focusing on welfare and well-being topics.Participate in the welfare staff performance review process with the Indie site manager, providing feedback and areas for development.Conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.Schedule and lead staff meetings to discuss welfare issues, share updates, and collaborate on solutions.Possess time management skills, administrative skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.Exhibit strong written, oral, and digital literacy skills, and attention to detail.For this position, the applicants must Have proven experience in staff management.Have a strong understanding of the school system.Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively and resolve conflicts.Be willing and able to travel regularly to different sites as required.For this position applicants must hold and provide evidence of Minimum qualification of a Degree in Community Services, Counselling, Youth Work, Social Science, Social Work, or related discipline.Current Drivers Licence.Working with Children Check.Annual National Police Check.Benefits of Indie Attractive PBI Salary packaging is on offer through Maxxia.Uniform provided.15 days paid personal leave.Paid parental leave provisions.Access to an Employee Wellbeing Platform via Sonder.Locations all around Australia.Renumeration Company laptop and mobile phone provided.Salary packaging and company car as part of the package.To apply: Please submit a cover letter (no more than 2 pages) highlighting why you are the ideal candidate for this role.
