About the Role
Zenith Energy is recruiting for an Electrical Engineer role reporting directly to the Electrical Engineering Manager .
This position is responsible for designing projects, supporting site installation, and commissioning hybrid (renewable and thermal) off-grid power stations.
What you'll be doing
Develop Medium and Low Voltage Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and Detailed Schematic Controls.
Review specifications for Transformers, MV and LV Switchboards, RMUs, BESS, Solar PVs, and MV Kiosk Substations.
Design Earth Grid systems and size/select equipment such as switchgear, MCC, circuit breakers, transformers, and Variable Speed Drives.
Analyze HV and LV systems, including distribution, control, protection, and earthing.
Size UPS, battery chargers, and cables; calculate load demand.
Review HV submissions and coordinate with construction and commissioning teams.
Collaborate with vendors to evaluate proposals and document design processes.
Develop test and commissioning plans.
What We're Looking For
Experience in Electrical Design within a heavy industrial environment, preferably in a remote Power Station or Mine site plant design.
Strong understanding of current Australian standards and international standards.
Highly developed communication skills with an ability to communicate at all levels.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex electrical protection systems.
Desirable Experience and Knowledge
Experience with DigSILENT PowerFactory.
Knowledge of Protection Relay programming.
Experience in High Voltage Substation design.
