Medium sized, expanding departmentCost recovery focusEstablished team, processes and modelsThe Organisation:Expanding federal government department which is funded by a range of revenue streams including some cost recovery.
Their diversity provides career growth beyond what is normally available through a department that is purely funded through cost recovery operations.
The Role:The Department is partially funded through the cost recovery of fees and levies to businesses and industry.
It is imperative that they can accurately model the costs for delivery services.
You will be working in a small team of costing staff that are responsible for the modelling of these costs.
They are recruiting for a cost accountant at the APS6 level via an s26, or 12 months non-ongoing contract.
You will manage and maintain cost recovery financial models which are based on the principles of activity-based costing.
The team has strong leadership with lots of costing experience for you to leverage.
It's an interesting and challenging role with a good degree of autonomy and diversity.
You'll also have the opportunity to be involved in the maintenance of their CRIS – Cost Recovery Implementation Statements.
Your Skills and Experience:Your communication skills are excellent whether you communicate through e-mail, telephone or face to face.
Ideally you are professionally qualified (CA/CPA) or close to finishing.
You are also an Australian Citizen – ideally with a current security clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
It is expected that you have demonstrated capability at the APS6 level (or equivalent) previously and have the base level technical finance skills to be successful in this role.
Excel experience is a must - You need to be comfortable with formulas such as vlookups, pivots, if statements etc.
Previous costing, policy analysis and modelling experience is important for success in this role.
