MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the Systems Safety activity for major rail projects including as the client representative and for the supplier.Develop strategies and plans to implement the Safety Assurance activities for a project through all or some project life cycle stages.Develop associated safety cases and SFAIRP arguments.Provide guidance and support on Engineering Safety and Systems Assurance to engineering staff within Transport Engineering and to client and supplier representatives.Represent Safety Assurance concepts and arguments to stakeholders including regulatory, operations and other asset management bodies.Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry groups.Prepare assurance arguments and documentation to support configuration change submissions.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as industry standards.Provide input into the development of tender responses in conjunction with other team members.Abide by applicable workplace health and safety policies and procedures.Any other duty assigned to you having regard to your skills, training and experience.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related field.5+ years of experience in prior Safety Assurance Engineer positions with at least 2 years specifically in rail.Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to safety, environmental, security, and asset management.Experience developing and implementing safety, environmental, security, and asset management policies and procedures.SKILLS: Demonstrate a mature and reliable attitude to your work and a willingness to learn.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.Passion for engineering and hands-on field-based work.Ability to focus on a number of varied tasks with drive, enthusiasm and energy.High level of computer literacy.Working here: Ricardo is an exciting and rewarding place to work, and you have the opportunity to make a difference.
