Psychology, Counselling & Social Work (Healthcare & Medical) St John of God Health Care is one of the largest private providers of health care services in Australia, employing more than 16,000 employees (caregivers).
We operate 27 hospitals and services comprising more than 3,500 hospital beds, including home nursing, disability services, and social outreach programs.
St John of God Social Outreach provides a range of no or low-cost mental health, homelessness, and capacity building services to over 5500 people in the community across Victoria, Western Australia, New South Wales, and the Asia Pacific, particularly in areas where we have identified gaps in service provision.
The Head to Health centres and services are part of a federally funded Australian Government initiative aimed at improving access to mental health services for people whose condition is too complex for primary care but doesn't meet the criteria for a hospital ED visit.
Your role at St John of God Head to HealthWe are seeking applications for a Team Leader to support our Head to Health services in Armadale.
This position will be responsible for the leadership of the mental health programs and care delivered by caregivers.
You will have both leadership and coordination responsibilities for the caregivers within the Head to Health service and will carry a clinical caseload as required by the service location.
The Position Ensure prioritisation and delegation of duties of caregiver caseloads for self and supervised caregivers.Promote professional values and ethics in clinical practice.Demonstrate consolidated, current knowledge of research and evidence-based practice in service mental health programs and related clinical areas.Provide clinical support and guidance to the Head to Health team.Provide mental health services to client groups and circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced practice skills (e.g., complex trauma).Demonstrate strong, current clinical knowledge and skills and apply this to contribute to supporting individuals and teams in clinical practice.Lead and contribute to undergraduate student programs and training.You will have demonstrated experience in a leadership role in a community-based mental health setting, including allocation of tasks to other clinical caregivers, supervision of a multidisciplinary team, and experience delivering individual and group therapy programs across a variety of mental health presentations in a community setting.
Successful applicants will have relevant tertiary qualifications in either Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or Nursing, current registration with AHPRA or membership of the relevant association, a current driver's licence, and a Working with Children check.
