The Role Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role oversees financial operations related to the supply chain, including procurement, operations, and logistics, ensuring efficient and cost-effective processes.
This role requires strong analytical skills to assess financial performance, implement cost-saving measures, and provide financial insights to drive decision-making within supply chain activities.
The Finance Manager will collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve financial outcomes across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as the bridge between the finance, supply chain, and operations departments to ensure alignment on financial goals and objectives.
Provide financial expertise in decision-making on supply chain strategies.Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and manage budgets for supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.
Work with supply chain and operations teams to forecast and plan financial requirements.
Prepare and present financial reports related to supply chain performance, highlighting key metrics such as cost variances, inventory turnover, and operational efficiency.Product Costing: Analyse product costing across all SKUs and product groups, including Bill of Materials (BOM) analysis and costing procedures.
Continuous review of product costing to understand and investigate purchase price variances vs production variances.
Work with the NPD department to support new product costing estimates.Cost Analysis & Control: Monitor, analyse, and report on supply chain costs, including transportation, warehousing, procurement, and inventory.
Identify areas for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and profit maximization.
For Direct Manufacturing Costs, undertake operational variance analysis including labour, variable, fixed and material cost.Inventory Management: Oversee financial aspects of inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels and cost-effective storage while minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.Cash Flow Management: Collaborate with the finance team to optimize cash flow in the supply chain process, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and managing working capital effectively.Supplier Negotiations & Contracting: Work closely with procurement and supplier management teams to analyse supplier contracts and evaluate financial terms to secure the best possible cost structure.Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve financial processes and reporting, leveraging technology and data analytics tools to enhance efficiency and decision-making.Risk Management: Identify financial risks in the supply chain process and implement strategies to mitigate these risks, including fluctuations in commodity prices, transportation costs, and supplier performance.Compliance & Auditing: Ensure all supply chain financial processes are in compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.What's on Offer A competitive salary package aligned to your level of experience and suitability for the roleParticipation in company's Performance Bonus planSupport provided for professional development and trainingIT tools providedGreat breakout/kitchen area with cooking facilitiesOnsite car parking is providedA healthy & happy culture:Hybrid style flexible working from home, and our state-of-the-art production facility and officeOn-site gymHealthy products to enjoyWinning culture and amazing teamAccess to exclusive offers and discountsConfidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's degree or professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CSCP are a plus).5+ years of experience in financial management within operations, supply chain, or logistics.Experience with ERP and supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is desirable.Experience in supply chain finance or financial planning & analysis within manufacturing industries, with a high preference for FMCG.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and translate them into actionable insights to improve supply chain operations.Desired Skills & Knowledge Local (Australia) Accounting Regulations (Detailed Knowledge)Auditing Techniques and Standards (Working Knowledge)IFRS (Working Knowledge)Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with senior management, team members, and external partners.Ability to drive results whilst working to tight deadlinesDetail-oriented and comfortable with a fast-paced, high-performance environmentTeam player, strong interpersonal skills and ability to articulate ideas clearly (oral, written communication)Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (financial modelling, pivot tables, macros), experience with financial reporting tools and ERP (i.e., SAP)If you meet the above criteria and are interested in joining our dynamic and purpose-driven team, please send through your current resume and a cover letter addressing why you are our next Operations Finance Manager.
